Lynda is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Distance Credentialed Counselor. She is also currently working to complete hours for the play therapist credential. Lynda received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from American Military University, a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and is currently working on her doctoral degree (PhD in Marriage & Family counseling) at North Central University. She has experience working in community mental health agencies, residential and outpatient substance abuse facilities, Child Advocacy Centers, Domestic Violence Shelters as well as DOD and VA facilities. She has personal and professional knowledge of the military/VA culture and enjoys working with military families.
Lynda is trained in Gottman Couples Method level I, II & III and utilizes this model in all of her couples counseling sessions. She has training in Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Theraplay, which are utilized in her child and family sessions. Along with her experience in child and family therapy she is also a Certified Parent Educator and utilizes this knowledge to support parents in many ways. Lynda facilitates individual, couples, family and group sessions. She offers evening and weekend appointments.
